Job summary

SmartLam North America in Columbia Falls, MT, is seeking a Production Team Member for the Swing Shift. You will operate machinery, monitor processes and ensure quality while supporting safety and efficiency on a wood manufacturing line.

The role requires basic math, the ability to read tape measures, and reliability for the 4:00 PM–2:30 AM schedule. Walk-ins are welcome and paid holidays are provided.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Operate floor/palm/belt sanders and small hand tools as needed.
  • May sort lumber and apply epoxy fillers or glue.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Production Team Member - Swing Shift

Salary Range: $18.00 To $20.00 Hourly

About the Role:

As a Production Team Member on the Swing Shift, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely manufacturing of high-quality products. Your primary focus will be to operate machinery, monitor production processes, and maintain safety standards to meet daily production goals. You will collaborate closely with team members and supervisors to troubleshoot issues and optimize workflow. This position requires adaptability to work during the swing shift hours, contributing to continuous production operations. Ultimately, your efforts will directly impact the company's ability to deliver products that meet customer expectations and maintain operational excellence.

  • RECEIVE ON THE JOB TRAINING
  • Wage: $18.00 - $20.00/hr D.O.E, plus $1.00 shift diferential for swing shift
  • Swing Shift Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM
  • 9 PAID HOLIDAYS - NO WAITING PERIOD
  • Walk-ins are always welcomed!

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic math skills
  • Communication: read and write in English
  • Able to follow written instructions.
  • Accurately read/use tape measures and other basic small tools.
  • Ability to work the designated swing shift hours reliably.
  • Team Member oriented
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and safety protocols.
  • Interpersonal skills to build relationships and interact with co-workers.
  • Able to clearly communicate with coworkers and Team Leader
  • Basic computer skills
  • Using proper ergonomics to perform general physical activities to stack lumber, lift lumber, mounting and dismounting off sorting machine.

Responsibilities:

  • Working in a team environment in a wood manufacturing setting
  • Follow safe work practices. Employee safety is the most important thing to us!
  • Follow all health & safety regulations including wearing appropriate protective equipment.
  • May be required to use floor, palm, and belt sanders and other hand and other small hand-held tools as necessary to meet finishing standards.
  • May sort lumber
  • May be required to use/apply epoxy fillers or glue product as needed
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area
  • Maintain a healthy and safe environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
