Under the general direction of an Area Leader and working as a member of a production team, a production team member is responsible for performing various tasks required to operate production machinery and assembly jobs; changeover presses and other machinery; perform minor maintenance and housekeeping duties; and participate in councils or task forces to support plant operations.
Production team members have the authority and responsibility to start and stop production operations, use gauges and other measuring instruments to check production parts, complete checklists to document the status of production parts or machinery, and seek assistance from all available plant resources.
General Statement: Participation in production teams is the foundation of the plant's operating philosophy. The team and its members are responsible for the following:
Meet minimum qualifications as defined in the PPI selection process.
Team members must be able to stand on concrete floors for the duration of their shift, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, bend to the floor, and use arms and hands. Visual precision is required for inspecting parts, reading documents, gauges, and measuring instruments.
Production Area: Ability to exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and repetitively lift up to 40 pounds from and to heights of 10-56 inches.
Containment Area: Ability to exert up to 40 pounds of force repetitively from and to heights of 10-56 inches, up to four times a minute, and occasionally exert force up to 40 pounds from and to the same heights.
All team members are expected to work in all production areas to promote productivity, quality, and safety, regardless of their initial assignment.
