Smurfit Westrock in Claremont, NC is hiring for a Production Team Member on days or nights. The role involves operating and monitoring carton production lines, performing quality checks, and maintaining workplace safety and housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Ability to use and read basic measurement devices.
• Able to learn to operate testing devices (Chatillon, E J Caddy, Mettler PM 480, Fluke thermometer).
• Pallet jack certification is a plus.
• General mechanical aptitude.
• Pass Farnsworth Munsell-100 Hue Test.
• Must follow detailed training and quality instructions.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to perform quality checks on cartons.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document quality audits, verify job completion and check specifications.
• Learn to Make-ready machine and monitor carton quality.
• Maintain materials and complete reports; keep area clean per management standards.
• Complete line clearance and other duties as assigned by department manager.

Dayshift & Nightshift

Starting payrate: $17.51/hr

$3.00/hr shift differential for nights

The Opportunity

• Perform and document quality audits, verify job completion, understand job sheet. Check job specifications to carton, learn to Make-ready machine, monitor carton quality, maintain materials for production, complete necessary reports (forms), maintain housekeeping to standards set by management, complete line clearance and additional job duties as assigned by department manager.
• Compliance with all workplace rules, policies and procedures, i.e. SQF, safety, etc.
• Protective Equipment Required: Safety glasses, ear plugs, Appropriate Gloves, Safety Shoes, Hair and Beard net if applicable, Bump Caps if applicable and Level 7 Sleeves if Applicable
