Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking candidates for roles such as Feeder Packer, Graphic and/or Shipping Utility in Joplin, Missouri. You will perform quality audits, document findings, and assist with production line tasks while following safety rules.

The role requires basic measurement skills, ability to operate testing devices, and a willingness to learn pallet jack operation. Strong mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills are beneficial for success.

Qualifications

• Ability to use and read basic measurement devices (calculator, tape measure, ruler).
• Willingness to learn to operate testing devices such as Chatillon, EJ Caddy, Mettler PM 480 and Fluke IR Thermometer.
• Pallet jack certification is a plus.
• General mechanical aptitude required.
• Basic computer skills and ability to perform carton quality checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document quality audits; verify job completion and adherence to specs.
• Monitor carton quality, learn make-ready processes, and maintain materials.
• Complete reports and ensure housekeeping and line clearance per management.
• Follow safety policies and wear required PPE.

This role can include Feeder Packer, Graphic and/or Shipping Utility positions.

The Opportunity

• Perform and document quality audits, verify job completion, understand job sheet. Check job specifications to carton, learn to Make-ready machine, monitor carton quality, maintain materials for production, complete necessary reports (forms), maintain housekeeping to standards set by management, complete line clearance and additional job duties as assigned by department manager.
• Compliance with all workplace rules, policies and procedures, i.e. SQF, safety, etc.
• Protective Equipment Required: Safety glasses, ear plugs, Appropriate Gloves, Safety Shoes, Hair and Beard net if applicable, Bump Caps if applicable and Level 7 Sleeves if Applicable
