Description

Summary: This position involves all facets of production, including receiving, sorting, grading, and processing all donated merchandise received.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to the following:

Donations Received
  • Meet and greet every donor immediately.
  • Assist donors by unloading vehicles and properly caring for donations.
  • Log each donation on the daily production sheet.
  • Thank donors and offer stickers and receipts.
  • Carefully bring donations into the processing area and sort by category.
  • Price furniture and take to the sales floor when possible.
  • Sort hard goods and textiles to their respective stations.
  • Switch full gaylords of product as needed.
  • Lift heavy objects safely.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Grading
  • Process donations promptly.
  • Sort, process, and price merchandise.
  • Inspect textiles and categorize accordingly.
  • Hang items and maintain store stock.
  • Ensure work area safety and cleanliness.
Hanging
  • Move saleable clothing to hanging area.
  • Hang clothing properly, including clipping and buttoning.
  • Place clothing on racks or floors for sale.
  • Monitor for theft.
Material Handling
  • Process and separate items as directed.
  • Follow SOPs and palletize items.
  • Weigh, label, and record loads.
  • Notify supervisors of processing milestones.
  • Assist in loading/unloading trucks and moving materials.
Baling
  • Prepare and operate baling machine.
  • Place materials in the chamber, tie bales, and transport them to storage.
Qualifications

Leadership Competencies: Emotional maturity, integrity, adaptability, interpersonal skills, commitment to development, and community service.

Qualification Requirements: Ability to perform essential duties, pass drug and background checks, and possibly operate a forklift with certification.

Skills: Reading, basic math, following instructions, teamwork, customer service, and independent work.

Experience/Education: All backgrounds accepted; or up to one month related experience/training; or equivalent.

Certificates: Forklift certification if operating one.

Work Environment: Exposure to outdoor weather, fumes, dust, noise, and occasional hazards.

Physical Demands: Communication, computer use, and physical activity as described.
