Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington seeks a retail leadership professional to oversee store operations, mentor staff, and drive community impact. The role includes directing daily activities, enforcing policies, and ensuring accurate cash handling in a busy Maryland store.

You will supervise donation attendants, processors, and sales associates while maintaining store appearance, safety, and customer service excellence. A growth-minded leader with prior supervisory experience will thrive here.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience required; GGW Aspiring Managers/Employ Excellence may substitute.
• Retail leadership experience preferred; ability to coach and direct staff.
• Fluent in English; Spanish skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assists the store manager with overall operation of the retail store.
• Ensures compliance with company policy and standards.
• Handles daily administrative functions and cash transactions.
• Monitors sales transactions and ensures proper procedures.
• Maintains store appearance and safety procedures.
• Supports interview and evaluations of associates.
• Oversees bank deposits and store openings/closes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists the store manager with the overall operation of the retail store.
• Assists the store manager in the compliance and enforcement of company policy and standards.
• Assists in performing daily administrative/clerical functions of store operations and cash transactions.
• Monitors sales transactions associated with purchases and ensures proper sales procedures are followed by store associates.
• Maintains the general appearance of store and premises according to Goodwill standards.
• Assists to ensure the enforcement of store safety and security procedures.
• Assists in settling customer complaints.
• Provides input for associate interviews and performance evaluations.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Makes bank deposits.
• Opens and closes the store as necessary.
• Assists in the supervision and training of retail associates.
• Assists in the interviews and instructs workers in such a manner as to develop their full working potential.
• Assists with maintain proper staffing levels.
• Assists with monitoring the time and attendance system.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has supervisory responsibility for the retail staff including the donation attendants, processors, and sales associates.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
