Job summary

Glanbia Nutritionals, Inc. in Gooding, Idaho is seeking a Production Team Leader to guide daily shift operations, mentor hourly staff, and promote a zero-loss, safety- and quality-focused culture.

The role emphasizes meeting production goals and supporting continuous improvement. You will collaborate with maintenance, logistics, and warehouse teams while ensuring compliance with GMP, FDA, USDA, HACCP and SQF standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required plus 3+ years of related experience or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, manuals, diagrams, and schedules.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, prioritization, delegation, and basic math skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills including email, databases, word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead shift production activities to meet safety, quality, output, budget, and continuous improvement goals.
  • Coach, develop, and provide performance feedback to hourly employees while supporting team accountability and engagement.
  • Uphold Glanbia safety, GMP, SOP, FDA, USDA, Idaho state, HACCP, and SQF standards.
  • Schedule and coordinate employees, shifts, production activities, audits, inventory checks, sampling, and daily standard work.
  • Partner with maintenance, logistics, warehouse, and shipping teams to support production flow, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance decisions.
  • Report on plant performance during daily reviews and staff meetings while demonstrating professionalism in communication and behavior.
  • Serve on committees as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with applicable occupational safety, health, and food safety requirements.

The Opportunity

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; three or more years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, diagrams, and schedules.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, prioritization, delegation, and basic math skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including email, databases, word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly involves standing, walking, talking, and listening; may also involve sitting, reaching, crouching, stooping, kneeling, climbing, balancing, and using hands and fingers.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform moderate physical activity in a production/technical environment.
  • Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Typical Environmental Conditions
  • May be exposed to loud noise, humidity, heat, fumes, chemicals, moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, and electrical shock risks.
Travel Requirements
  • Minimal travel limited within the local area.
