Job summary

Nature's Sunshine Products, Inc. is seeking a hands-on packaging shift supervisor to lead the swing shift with a strong emphasis on quality, safety and maintenance.

You will work side by side with the shop floor team to ensure adherence to GMP and SOP guidelines, maintain accurate documentation, and lead continuous improvement efforts on packaging lines. The role requires strong leadership and the ability to drive root-cause analysis, coordinate with QA, and maintain a positive, productive work

Qualifications

• Experience leading a production team in packaging.
• Familiarity with GMPs and SOPs and batch records.
• Ability to drive improvements and reduce waste.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and lead department priorities on swing shift.
• Ensure GMP, SOP, safety, and quality compliance.
• Maintain PPE availability and usage.
• Motivate and unite the shift team.
• Lead quality and technical aspects of packaging lines.
• Identify root causes and coordinate with QA.
• Maintain accurate documentation and data entry.
• Operate material handling equipment.
• Contribute to a positive work environment.
• Support packaging line flexibility and coverage.

Job description

Swing Shift Schedule: Monday thru Thursday 3:00pm-1:30am with Friday Overtime as needed

Provide effective leadership for packaging areas regarding technical, quality and safety expertise. Expectation is to work side by side with team on shop floor. Is responsible for Quality, Safety, and Maintenance of all swing shift production. Has skill set to lead the team in all aspects of Cost and Customer Service. Has the ability to resolve conflict in a timely and positive manner. Leads team huddles to discuss production goals and company initiatives. Proactively works to apply continuous improvement attitude.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Schedules, communicates and leads out in priorities of department and company
• Ensures team follows all GMP and SOP guidelines
• Creates and atmosphere that Safety and Quality are always priority
• Ensures proper PPE is available and followed
• Motivates and leads the team. Creates team unity among all shifts
• Expert in quality and technical aspects of all packaging lines
• Has the skill to drill to root cause of issues and coordinates concerns with Quality Assurance
• Works as a team to maintain a positive work environment
• Expert knowledge of computer processes and all applicable technical aspects
• Completes accurately all applicable documentation
• Operates material handling equipment
• Other Duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Manufacturing Leadership and Process Experience
• Familiarity with products and manufacturing procedures in Material Prep, Processing and Packaging
• Knowledge of Batch Record narratives and proper procedures
• Expert in SOPs and GMPs
• Skill in leading a team
• Effective communication and motivational abilities
• Skilled in reduction of waste and root cause analysis
• General computer and math skills
• Leads and participate in continuous improvement projects
• Must be able to positively influence coworkers, peers, and management
• Ability to coordinate with all areas to allow weekly production schedules to be met
• Communication is a key ability both verbal and written
• Must be a self motivated employee with the ability to lead a team
• Must be willing to work overtime to complete projects that cannot be left unfinished
• The position requires flexibility to run and lead all packaging lines
