Job summary

DIS-TRAN Steel in Pineville, LA, is seeking a Leadperson to join Plant 2 on the Day Shift. The role leads, coaches, mentors, and trains a small team to meet production goals while upholding safety and quality standards.

You will read and interpret specifications and schedules, coordinate department activities, and report progress to the Production Supervisor. A high school diploma, 3 years of pole fit or weld experience, and ERP familiarity are expected; OSHA-safe practices and reliable

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; 1+ year DIS-TRAN experience expected.
• Experience using Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook is preferred.
• Epicor experience preferred.
• Regular, reliable attendance is required.
• Minimum 3 years of Pole fit and/or weld experience.
• 0 safety violations; strong quality record

Responsibilities

• Leads, coaches, mentors, and trains a small team to achieve required production levels.
• Enforces safety and sanitation regulations.
• Coordinates the activities of employees engaged in production or processing of materials.
• Confers with supervisors to coordinate activities within or between departments.
• Inspects materials, products, or equipment for defects or malfunctions.
• Interprets specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies for workers.
• Reads and analyzes charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records to determine production requirements and outputs.
• Performs daily safety activities.
• Ensures employees are trained in safe work practices.
• Ensures safety equipment is available and utilized.
• Creates daily work plan to meet production schedule.
• Provides status updates and completion reports to the Production Supervisor.
• Seeks continuous development of employees.
• Sets goals and conducts evaluations.
• Administers policies; conducts discipline and dismissals.
