Job Summary

Within the Mission and Strategic Plan established for Friendship Industries, Inc. and Able Solutions, Inc., the Production Team Leader is responsible for producing a product equal to, or better than, the expectations of our customers. In addition, the Production Team Leader is responsible for coordinating the activities of our workers as outlined by the Production Supervisors or Commercial Operations Managers. Friendship Industries, Inc. and Able Solutions, Inc. Team Leaders must show initiative and determination when working on the production floor.

Specific Responsibilities and Duties
Production
  • Responsible for reviewing specific work in process on the production floor for efficiency and safety suggesting ways in which they can be improved to maximize quality, performance and profit. Communicate this effectively to the Commercial Operations Manager or their designee.
  • Must be proficient in the set-up and operating procedures for any equipment used at Friendship Industries or Able Solutions that the Supervisor deems necessary.
  • Implement an efficient production workflow process.
  • Must have forklift experience and be able to successfully complete licensure.
  • Ability and willingness to fill in as required across departments.
Supervision
  • Must have leadership skills and show effective line leading abilities while collaborating with Team Members.
  • Train and help Team Members as necessary, asking for training assistance as needed. Cooperate in all Employment Services functions providing input and feedback.
Administrative
  • Coordinate the paperwork process of specific work orders. This will include, but is not limited to, completing Team Members time using Vertex system, providing totals and amounts on the order, double checking for accuracy, and tracking/monitoring all materials either in inventory or in process or remaining as excess inventory or scrap. Coordinate and control piece rates while completing paperwork with accuracy.
  • Must have familiarity with working on computers.
Quality/Safety
  • Monitor Team Members’ quality on assigned jobs. Find solutions to quality problems to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Check incoming and outgoing shipments for correct counts and documentation accuracy. Maintain a policy of no returns for errors in paperwork accuracy or quantitative errors.
  • Perform all work in accordance with applicable safety regulations.
Communication and Collaboration
  • Must be able to work effectively with any size team, or alone with minimal supervision.
  • Participate in meetings as required, providing information and input as needed.
  • Be an integral part of the solution process in determining scheduling and production.
  • Review production on a daily basis with Supervisor. Set daily priorities according to the decisions made at that time
Education/Experience Requirement

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience

  • Ability to work in a professional manner at all times

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office

Preferred Skillset
  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish)
  • Experience working or volunteering with at risk/vulnerable adults
  • Two years minimum of practical machine operating experience in a production environment
  • General knowledge and competence in Quality Assurance, GMP, Lean and ISO
Environmental Exposure
  • Warehouse Packaging Environment
Physical Requirements
  • Must wear and use safety and protective equipment
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. unassisted
  • Must be able to bend, twist, reach, and sit
