Job summary

BSN SPORTS, A VARSITY BRANDS COMPANY, located in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Production/Warehouse Team Lead to drive safety, quality, delivery, and productivity metrics in a fast-paced onsite facility.

The role requires a HS Diploma or GED and 2–3 years in a warehouse/manufacturing setting; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Onsite work with Monday–Friday shifts and overtime, at 5349 W 76th St, Indianapolis.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED and/or 2-3 years’ experience in a warehouse/manufacturing setting.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, healthy, and welcoming working environment in a Lean culture for all team members
• Communicate with team members to resolve issues to attain daily productivity, quality, and delivery goals
• Partner with department Coach to identify training gaps and develop action plan per team member
• Be a champion of the department’s SOPs
• Partner to find the most efficient process and suggest improvements where needed/identified; encourages team members to provide suggestions
• Identify and resolve small conflicts within department; work closely with Supervisor/Manager to resolve larger conflicts.
• Tactically understands department metrics and what impacts them; able to make recommendations on labor shifting, when business dictates

Monday – Friday; 3:00pm - 11:30pm

• Mandatory overtime, which may include some Saturdays and Sundays.

How You Will Make An Impact

As a member of the Production/Warehouse team, the Team Lead has a critical role and is responsible for problem solving issues and supporting our Operations team members to remove roadblocks and solve problems to ensure operational success through attaining KPIs in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity.

• Excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills
• Great attention to detail and organization skills
• Computer literate with knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office, knowledge in SAP a plus
• Flexibility to work varying shifts in support of the operation
• Thrives on solving problems in both traditional and creative ways

Education / Experience

• HS Diploma or GED and/or 2-3 years’ experience in a warehouse/ manufacturing setting
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. Repetitive movement of the body is required on a regular basis. The position requires lifting of no less than 15-35 lbs. on a regular basis. Must be able to tolerate working in a non-climate-controlled environment.
