Job summary

Legrand is seeking a Production Assembly Lead to guide a team in assembling products and components, serving as a subject matter expert in the assigned area.

This role mentors Assembly Technicians, leads advanced tasks, and ensures work is performed efficiently and in line with department policies and ISO standards.

The ideal candidate has electro/mechanical assembly experience, strong problem solving, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus electronics coursework.
• Associate degree in Industrial Electronics or 3 years related experience.
• Minimum 2 years electro/mechanical assembly experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead SME in Cord Prep, Packing, or QA and mentor technicians.
• Audit 5S score and manage queue levels in the area.
• Independently perform PCA/part/subassembly/finished product builds and quality validation.
• Inspect and disposition product under the Return Credit RMA process and report findings.
• Maintain ISO compliance and safety standards.

Job Description

The Production Assembly Lead will work as part of a team to assemble products or component of a product. The Production Assembly Lead needs to be a SME (subject matter experts) in the assigned area. This position will lead and perform advanced and complex tasks as well as share expertise in all production operations serving as a mentor to other Assembly Technicians. This position will ensure that all assigned duties are performed quickly, efficiently and according to the established departmental and company policies, procedures and goals. The Production Assembly Lead, as with all members of the DPC Team, is expected to promote a positive attitude, demonstrate initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, integrity, and exercise confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Main Activities:

• SME in all related roles; Cord Prep, Packing, or QA
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision - Is able to establish and complete goals in-line with the Company's Key Results
• Audit and maintain an acceptable department 5S score
• Manage queue levels in the assigned area
  

Main Job Duties

- Independently perform routine tasks to inspect and disposition product under the Return Credit RMA process. -

• Coordinates and communicates RMA progress and discrepancies to necessary parties.
• Independently perform PCA/part/subassembly/finished product build and quality validation sampling.
• Perform tests on product to determine approval or rejecting and writes report of examinations.
• Identify and disposition non-conforming parts, assemblies and finished good products.
• Troubleshoot and isolate physical and functional product defects.
• Perform work in a safe manner.
• Report repairs or safety concerns to management.
• Maintain compliance with all ISO regulations and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  

Education

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) supplemented by college level Electronics Technician coursework.
• Associate Degree in Industrial Electronics or related field preferred; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years electro/mechanical assembly experience.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with a logical approach to both mechanical and electronic problem-solving.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to solder wires for cables, small wires, and surface mount components.
• Experience with assembly of miniature mechanical components.
• Experience with computer assembly and hardware/software troubleshooting.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to provide information across multiple groups in the Company.
• Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to work independently.
• Computer proficiency with knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook), preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO 9000 standards and audit process.
