Job summary

Lonza Biologics, Inc. in Greenwood, SC is seeking a Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain applications powering our production environment with a strong focus on reliability, compliance, and scalability in a fast-paced pharmaceutical setting.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, quality assurance, and operations to optimize capsule production workflows, inventory management, and data integrity, including real-time monitoring and MES/ERP integration across global systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming, ASP.NET (MVC/Web API), Entity Framework, and ADO.NET.
• Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and ETL processes.
• Experience with version control and agile development methodologies.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical or regulated industries and GMP/21 CFR Part 11 concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust software applications to support production systems (real-time monitoring, batch tracking, quality control).
• Collaborate on global MES/OT systems development with a global mindset.
• Gather requirements, analyze needs, and implement scalable ERP/MES integrations.
• Perform code reviews, debugging, and optimization for high performance and uptime in a 24/7 environment.
• Implement and maintain SQL Server schemas, stored procedures, and queries for large production data while ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
• Support system validation, testing (unit/integration/UAT), and regulatory audits.
• Troubleshoot production issues promptly and participate in on-call rotation.
• Document designs, processes, and changes to facilitate knowledge transfer.
