Job summary

Lamsco West, Inc. in Santa Clarita, CA is seeking a Production Support Operator for the second shift to perform part cleaning, marking, packaging, deburring and grinding as part of our fast-paced manufacturing team.

You will use grinders, tumblers, and sand blasters while following Manufacturing Plans and quality procedures. In this role you must have good basic math and strong English communication, be detail oriented, and able to work with others to meet production deadlines in a lean

Qualifications

• Good basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
• Clear verbal and written English communication; able to follow instructions.
• Neat penmanship for forms and records.
• Detail oriented and able to multi-task several functions.
• Ability to use measuring tools and input data.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; 1–3 months manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean parts, mark parts, package, deburr and/or grind parts as per Manufacturing Plan.
• Operate a tumbler, sand blaster, grinding wheel, and deburring cloth.
• Must work well with others and meet attendance requirements; able to extend shifts when needed.
• Follow lean philosophy and 6S practices daily.
• Other duties as assigned.

Production Support Operator Second Shift

A Production Support Operator will perform a variety of production support functions including cleaning parts, part marking, packaging, deburring and/or grinding parts, operating a tumbler and a sand blaster. The stock material may consist of aluminum, stainless steel, polyimide or phenolic, fiber glass, composite material, titanium, brass, and copper.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• In accordance with instructions on Manufacturing Plan, will clean parts, perform part marking and packaging, deburr and/or grind parts using file, grinding wheel, tumbler and deburring cloth.
• Must be able to get along well with others.
• Must be able to work scheduled shift and meet company attendance requirements; must be flexible enough to stay late or modify work hours on short notice, if production deadlines require it.
• Must be able to perform the job safely; must comply with company safety rules and procedures.
• Must follow the lean philosophy and practice the 6 S’s on a daily basis
• Additional Duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:

• Have good basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals).
• Have good verbal and written English communication skills; ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to use micrometers and calipers.
• Ability to input data into a computer terminal.
• Have neat penmanship for completing Manufacturing Plans, etc.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; prefer one to three months experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to be detail oriented and able to multi-task several functions.
• Ability to organize work to optimize efficiency.
