Production Support Operator Second Shift
Summary

A Production Support Operator will perform a variety of production support functions including cleaning parts, part marking, packaging, deburring and/or grinding parts, operating a tumbler and a sand blaster. The stock material may consist of aluminum, stainless steel, polyimide or phenolic, fiber glass, composite material, titanium, brass, and copper.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • In accordance with instructions on Manufacturing Plan, will clean parts, perform part marking and packaging, deburr and/or grind parts using file, grinding wheel, tumbler and deburring cloth.
  • Must be able to get along well with others.
  • Must be able to work scheduled shift and meet company attendance requirements; must be flexible enough to stay late or modify work hours on short notice, if production deadlines require it.
  • Must be able to perform the job safely; must comply with company safety rules and procedures.
  • Must follow the lean philosophy and practice the 6 S’s on a daily basis.
  • Additional Duties, as assigned.
Requirements
  • Have good basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals).
  • Have good verbal and written English communication skills; ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to use micrometers and calipers.
  • Ability to input data into a computer terminal.
  • Have neat penmanship for completing Manufacturing Plans, etc.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; prefer one to three months experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to be detail oriented and able to multi-task several functions.
  • Ability to organize work to optimize efficiency.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to perform shop math calculations and follow instructions on manufacturing plans.
  • Manual dexterity to perform job functions within established time frame.
  • Correctable vision and hearing.
  • Ability to sit, walk, bend waist and neck, squat, twist neck and waist, use hands to grasp, manipulate, push, pull, reach, twist, turn; ability to stand up to 75% of the day; ability to lift up to 35 lbs. (individually) for 8-10 hours a day.
  • Must be able to maneuver successfully through a 75,000 square foot, two story manufacturing facility.
  • Must be able to work in/around solvents and dust.
