Job Functions

The Production Support Helper supports any up to all aerospace structural component manufacturing production tasks noted below in a team environment

daily, proactively, and when requested. Per company policy the Production Support Helper may occasionally support other items outside these descriptions when necessary to ensure company operational functions, especially production requirements, are met:

• Assists Manufacturing Shop Floor staff with daily preventive maintenance and logistical support in addition to any other general related assistance required to support production efforts
• Operates forklift regularly to move raw material from receiving locations to appropriate CNC work centers at different building locations
• Works with shop floor personnel to assist in logistics movement of partially machined or machined complete product to other departments or to next manufacturing operation location
• Performs preventive maintenance of CNC work centers to ensure filters are cleaned, oil levels are maintained, cooling systems are degreased, and general work center area is cleaned
• Completes review of CNC work center coolant levels and completes filling of units based on concentration levels as directed
• Supports general shop floor cleanliness with spill prevention and general cleaning
• Oversees completion of recycled coolant, oil, or other inert CNC work center liquid waste safe disposal into collection totes for removal by appropriate third party vendors
• Periodically supports other departments with supportive tasks in facilities maintenance such as facilities scrap removal
• Ensures Foreign Object Debris (FOD), 6S, and material traceability is strictly maintained while conducting logistical tasks within the production floor to ensure customer and AS9100 standards compliance is followed
• Reports directly to Manufacturing Floor Machinist Supervisor for daily tasks or when necessary to manufacturing building leads or other CNC maintenance staff

Position Requirements

Education/ Experience / Certifications

• High School or equivalent educational attainment required

Skills & Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to utilize basic computer proficiencies (Windows, MS Word, Outlook, Excel)
• General knowledge of AS9100 Quality systems and standards ideal
• General knowledge of counterfeit parts prevention practice ideal
• General knowledge of ITAR compliance ideal
• General knowledge of machine shop / CNC metallic manufacturing environment
• Must be able to conduct all tasks with high ethical standards to ensure integrity of aerospace products for military and commercial aviation is maintained
• Strong focus on safety, including personal safety, safety of co-workers, and protection of property on the job in accordance and compliance with company practices, industry standards, and government regulations
• Strong focus on quality with the ability and commitment to achieve total customer satisfaction in the quality of our products, services and decisions, implement systems and processes focused on excellence and continuous improvement
• Strong focus on Team Work especially in working with more or less experienced individuals and exhibiting patience when being trained or training when applicable

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
• The employee is frequently required to grasp, handle and feel objects, control and manage tools, and use hands and arms.
• The employee is occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel and crouch.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25-40 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
