Job summary

Sub-Zero, Inc. in Madison, WI, seeks a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead 20–25 assembly staff per shift, coordinating with other supervisors to meet production goals within our five pillars: People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

Growth and development are emphasized; this role offers training, teamwork, and a path to leadership or technical expertise. Must have 3–5 years in manufacturing, with strong problem solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with emphasis on cooking products and/or other high end consumer products.
• Problem solving and conflict management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Strong initiative and follow through.
• Strong oral and written communications skills.
• Lean Manufacturing concepts preferred, OSHA familiarity.
• Experience with SAP Systems and Windows-based PC software.

Responsibilities

• Plans operations, utilization of skills and man-hours, material and workflow to assure Quality and Delivery metrics are met.
• Assigns work, provides direction, develops a training plan, and assists employees in the performance of their work.
• Ensures the consistent use of Safety devices and PPE, supervises housekeeping and hazards, drives safety ideas.
• Monitors and drives Quality measures and continuous improvement efforts.
• Provides information and collaborates with other internal groups to effect cost reduction, scheduling and manpower planning.
• Participates in and coordinates programs related to employee communications, placement, training and development, orientation, quality, etc.
• Promotes positive employee relations through daily, open and direct communications.
• Ensures conformance with Company policies and work rules.

Job description

This position will supervise 20 – 25 assembly staff at a given time. In addition to supervising direct reports, this position will also work collaboratively with other supervisors during a shift.

Primary Responsibilities

This position will lead and supervise people and assembly activities to achieve established production goals consistent with our 5 performance indicating pillars – People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

• Plans operations, utilization of skills and man-hours, material and workflow to assure Quality and Delivery metrics are met.
• Assigns work, provides direction, develops a training plan, and assists employees in the performance of their work.
• Ensures the consistent use of Safety devices and personal protective equipment (PPE), supervises departmental housekeeping and maintains constant alert for hazardous conditions and practices. Drives Safety ideas and improvements.
• Monitors and drives Quality measures and implements continuous improvement efforts.
• Provides information and collaborates with other internal groups to effect cost reduction, work simplification, production scheduling and manpower planning.
• Participates in and coordinates programs related to employee communications, placement, training and development, orientation, quality, etc.
• Promotes positive employee relations through daily, open and direct communications.
• Ensures conformance with Company policies, practices and work rules related to attendance, performance, etc.
