Lake Air Products is hiring a Production Supervisor with metal stamping experience for 1st shift in New Hope, MN. The role oversees the Area Manager function for the metals stamping division, directs team leads, and drives production efficiency and quality.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of supervisory experience in sheet metal manufacturing, strong leadership and ERP data management skills, and the ability to manage staffing and budgets to meet financial objectives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Bachelor's or 4-year program certificate or 2–4 years related experience acceptable.
• 5+ years supervising production in the sheet metal industry.
• 5+ years manufacturing experience in sheet metal.
• Ability to lead and make decisions for the business.

Responsabilités

• Plan, assign, and adjust staffing, resources, and workflows to meet production schedules and priorities.
• Direct Team/Shift Leads and hourly employees, providing coaching, mentoring and performance evaluations.
• Address employee concerns and administer corrective actions per policies.
• Review and approve timecards and attendance for payroll accuracy.
• Monitor production activities using ERP and QA systems to ensure on-time delivery and quality.
• Maintain and optimize ERP data like routings, labor rates, and production notes.
• Audit labor utilization and production performance for accuracy and efficiency.
• Provide hands-on support for material handling and expediting as needed.
• Oversee new parts, prototypes, and process improvement initiatives.
• Track production performance and communicate status to drive improvements.

Position Summary

The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of departmental operations, ensuring the efficient flow of jobs from order release through production and final delivery. This role provides leadership and direction to Team Leads and hourly employees while managing staffing, workflow, production performance, quality, delivery, and departmental financial objectives. Working cross-functionally the Area Manager drives operational efficiency, resolves production challenges, and ensures alignment with customer requirements and business objectives.

• Plan, assign, and adjust staffing, resources, and workflows to meet production schedules, customer requirements, and operational priorities.
• Directly manage Team/Shift Leads and hourly employees, providing leadership, coaching, mentoring, performance evaluations, training, and development to drive accountability and employee engagement.
• Address employee concerns, resolve workplace issues, and administer corrective actions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Review and approve employee timecards and attendance records to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
• Monitor production activities and job status through ERP and quality management systems to ensure on-time delivery, product quality, and efficient workflow.
• Maintain and optimize ERP data, including routings, methods, labor rates, and production notes, to improve lead times, control costs, and maximize quality and efficiency.
• Audit labor utilization, production performance, and operational processes to ensure accuracy, productivity, and adherence to company expectations.
• Provide hands-on operational support for material handling, expediting, and production activities as needed.
• Oversee and support specialized production activities, including new parts, prototypes, and process improvement initiatives.
• Utilize project management and organizational tools to track production performance, communicate status, identify obstacles, and drive improvement opportunities.
• Manage departmental budgets and expenditures by monitoring headcount, payroll, production costs, and throughput to achieve operational and financial objectives.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Four-Year College or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years experience supervising production and employees in the sheet metal industry.
• 5+ years manufacturing experience in sheet metal industry
• Ability to lead, make decisions for the business
