Job summary

Lake Air Products is seeking a Production Supervisor w/Metal Stamping Experience on 1st shift in New Hope, MN. The role oversees the Area Manager responsibilities for the metals stamping division, driving efficiency, quality, and delivery against budgets and goals.

You will work with manufacturing leaders to optimize staffing, performance, and processes while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and adherence to safety and ITAR considerations.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising production in metals stamping or sheet metal environments.
• Ability to manage staffing, workflow, and production performance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staffing, resource allocation, and workflows to meet production schedules.
• Direct Team/Shift Leads and hourly employees, providing coaching and performance evaluations.
• Monitor payroll accuracy through attendance records and timecards.
• Maintain ERP data including routings and labour rates to optimize lead times.
• Drive continuous improvement and cost control initiatives across the department.
• Ensure on-time delivery and quality while meeting customer requirements.

We are currently seeking a 1st shift Area Manager for our metals stamping division located in New Hope, MN. Position Summary

The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of departmental operations, ensuring the efficient flow of jobs from order release through production and final delivery. This role provides leadership and direction to Team Leads and hourly employees while managing staffing, workflow, production performance, quality, delivery, and departmental financial objectives. Working cross-functionally the Area Manager drives operational efficiency, resolves production challenges, and ensures alignment with customer requirements and business objectives.

• Plan, assign, and adjust staffing, resources, and workflows to meet production schedules, customer requirements, and operational priorities.
• Directly manage Team/Shift Leads and hourly employees, providing leadership, coaching, mentoring, performance evaluations, training, and development to drive accountability and employee engagement.
• Address employee concerns, resolve workplace issues, and administer corrective actions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Review and approve employee timecards and attendance records to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
• Monitor production activities and job status through ERP and quality management systems to ensure on-time delivery, product quality, and efficient workflow.
• Maintain and optimize ERP data, including routings, methods, labor rates, and production notes, to improve lead times, control costs, and maximize quality and efficiency.
• Audit labor utilization, production performance, and operational processes to ensure accuracy, productivity, and adherence to company expectations.
• Provide hands-on operational support for material handling, expediting, and production activities as needed.
• Oversee and support specialized production activities, including new parts, prototypes, and process improvement initiatives.
• Utilize project management and organizational tools to track production performance, communicate status, identify obstacles, and drive improvement opportunities.
• Manage departmental budgets and expenditures by monitoring headcount, payroll, production costs, and throughput to achieve operational and financial objectives.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Four-Year College or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years experience supervising production and employees in the sheet metal industry.
• 5+ years manufacturing experience in sheet metal industry
• Ability to lead, make decisions for the business
