Job summary

PowerToFly is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee GMP-compliant manufacturing operations, ensure product integrity, and maintain documentation discipline.

You will coordinate shifts, drive continuous improvement, review KPIs, and collaborate with QA, maintenance, and supply chain while managing a weekend‑heavy 12‑hour schedule. Familiarity with SAP/MES and regulatory expectations is valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; 3+ years supervisory experience in manufacturing may substitute for a degree.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment, exposure to FDA requirements preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP, MES, and AGV preferred.
  • Experience supervising in a unionized environment preferred.

Job description

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for decision-making and support functions for the department, ensuring adequate team coverage and product integrity in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and documentation principles. Through written and verbal communication, the Supervisor provides and receives essential information to maintain optimum efficiency and performance levels.

Shift

This full‑time role operates on a variable 12‑hour shift schedule, primarily covering weekends (Friday–Sunday) but also scheduled during the week as needed. Flexibility is essential, and night shifts are eligible for a 5% shift differential.

Leadership and Support
  • Coordinate, assign, instruct, coach, and advise production team members to meet API, PPI, and KPI targets.
  • Participate in Nestlé Continuous Excellence tasks, including Shift hand‑over meetings, Daily Operational Review meetings, Pillar activities, AWD/MWG meetings, Go‑See‑Think‑Do problem solving, Operational DMAICs, and White Belt Projects; review key performance indicators.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot production problems with process, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams, applying problem‑solving tools.
  • Ensure compliance with Code of Federal Regulations, FDA regulations, and Nestlé requirements; review critical control points, investigate deviations, and investigate issue reports; create, review, and maintain SOPs.
  • Review and approve operator data in SAM and SAP to achieve operational targets.
  • Lead and support TPM change initiatives throughout operations areas.
  • Communicate with Business Unit leaders and others about non‑conformity, production issues, union contractual issues, and planning schedules.
  • Provide and receive instructions and information from prior and subsequent supervisors during Shift Hand‑Over meetings; use verbal contact and written documentation.
  • Prepare, conduct, facilitate, and document team meetings—daily, weekly, and monthly—as assigned.
  • Review and document team members’ Kronos and time‑attendance sheets.
  • Coordinate with support departments (e.g., QA Lab, Materials Control) and customer departments (e.g., Secondary Packaging) to ensure processing meets or exceeds planned requirements.
  • Provide and receive essential management support through verbal and written communication with departments such as Payroll, Accounting, Safety, Quality, Technical Applications, Human Resources, and Supply Chain.
Safety and Environmental
  • Follow factory safety and environmental objectives and targets.
  • Follow plant safety rules; report incidents and unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Maintain compliance with regulations and reference the Safety & Environmental Management System procedures.
  • Understand environmental impacts of the position and take action to reduce them by conserving paper, electricity, water, etc., and recycling appropriate materials.
Quality
  • Follow factory food safety and quality objectives and targets.
  • Follow Nestlé Good Manufacturing Practices; report food safety and quality issues immediately.
  • Maintain compliance with regulations and reference the Nestlé Quality Management System procedures.
  • Understand food safety and quality aspects as outlined in the Quality Management System, On‑the‑Job Training manual, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; 3+ years supervisory experience in manufacturing may substitute for a degree.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment, exposure to FDA requirements preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required; SAP, MES, and AGV experience preferred.
  • Experience with aseptic processing preferred.
  • Experience supervising in a unionized environment preferred.
