Production Supervisor

Location: Thrive Freeze Dry

Night Shift - 6:00pm-6:30am

Thrive Freeze Dry is looking for a hands-on and motivated Production Supervisor to lead our production operations. This role ensures that our manufacturing runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently by guiding production teams, coordinating daily workflows, and upholding high standards in quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

On the Production Floor:

  • Oversee daily operations and performance of production teams to ensure product quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Understand and support freeze-drying processes and equipment operation.
  • Complete and review production documentation accurately.
  • Manage schedules, shift assignments, and staffing levels.
  • Identify and implement improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
  • Support and troubleshoot equipment issues and resolve processing concerns.
  • Ensure accurate reporting (weights, lot tracking, etc.) and work closely with other departments to maintain efficiency.
  • Provide on-the-floor support when needed.
  • Train team members on tasks and safety practices.
  • Enforce sanitation, safety, and GMP standards.

Team Leadership & Engagement

  • Assist with new hire onboarding.
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and engaged team environment.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance support.
  • Model professionalism, hygiene, and workspace care.
  • Manage employee conversations around performance or concerns.

Office Duties

  • Maintain team schedules and attendance.
  • Lead daily huddles and monthly meetings.
  • Handle payroll reviews and submissions.
  • Input production data into Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
  • Use Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.
  • Manage employee reviews, disciplinary actions, and incident reporting.

What We’re Looking For

Education

  • High School Diploma required; Technical or Engineering degree preferred.

Experience

  • 2–3 years in a manufacturing setting (food manufacturing a plus).
  • Supervisory experience required.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Familiarity with HACCP and GMP practices.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office.
  • Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Organized, adaptable, and results-driven.

Work Environment:

  • Mix of plant and office settings; may include loud noise or temperature changes.
  • Oversees multiple departments and team members.

  • Adheres to and ensures Thrive’s food safety, product defense standards and quality objectives complies with all SQF system requirements.
