Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor and Mentor to lead operations in the twisting, knitting, and coating departments. This role requires deep technical expertise in specialized textile machinery, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and a commitment to safety and compliance. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient production, mentor staff, and uphold high standards of quality and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Prospecting and securing business opportunities, servicing existing network of customers and growing the client base
• Supervise daily production activities across twisting, knitting and vertical coating lines
• Ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality and minimizing downtime
• Coordinate machine setups and article changeovers with precision and efficiency

Operational Oversight, Technical Expertise & Troubleshooting

• Operate and maintain twisting machines
• Operate and optimize knitting machines
• Support and improve operations of a vertical coating line
• Troubleshoot mechanical and process-related issues and implement corrective actions
• Lead machine changeovers for different product types, improve the setup time, and ensure proper documentation
• Train operators and technicians on machine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Develop and update SOPs and training materials
• Promote a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence

Process Improvement

• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve machine efficiency and product quality
• Lead initiatives to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and enhance overall productivity
• Support and contribute to preventive maintenance planning and execution

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all operations comply with OSHA, local safety regulations and company safety standards
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments in the production areas
• Enforce the use of PPE and safe machine handling procedures
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, near misses, and corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and textile industry standards
• Promote a safety-first culture through training, awareness, and accountability

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years in textile manufacturing, with supervisory or mentoring experience
• Proven track record in machine troubleshooting and process optimization
• Experience in training and developing technical staff
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles is a plus

Technical Skills (Hard Skills)

• Expert knowledge of twisting machines (Air-twist/Coarsed-twist/Z-twist) - setup, operation and maintenance
• Strong experience with knitting machines
• Working knowledge of a coating line with infrared drying
• Proficient in machine troubleshooting, mechanical adjustments, and article changeovers
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and machine manuals
• Familiarity with textile production software and reporting tools

Education

• Technical diploma or degree in Textile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Certifications in machine operation, safety, or maintenance are advantageous
