Job summary

Amcor LLC in Massachusetts is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a team of 20–30 hourly employees, drive safety, quality and lean initiatives, and ensure efficient daily production of high-quality packaging products.

You will partner with the Production Manager, manage schedules and costs, mentor staff, and implement continuous improvement using GMPs and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree or equivalent required and related experience.
  • Minimum 3+ years of supervisory experience on the production floor.
  • Experience in Blown Film Industry is a plus.
  • Lean, Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement knowledge is a plus.
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, JDE and Teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication across diverse backgrounds.
  • Flexible to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to collaborate and drive initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise a team of 20 to 30 hourly employees.
  • Lead plant safety, housekeeping, 5S and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with EH&S, Quality, and HR standards.
  • Ensure GMPs are followed across the department.
  • Maintain compliance with customer quality standards.
  • Address and resolve downtime issues promptly.
  • Oversee documentation, schedules, and work orders.
  • Sustain throughput and manage direct labor costs with the Production Manager.
  • Plan production targets based on machine capabilities and staffing.
  • Train, motivate, and mentor employees.
  • Support on-the-job training and continuous improvement.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-realted knowledge, skills, and experience. Position may also be eligible for Amcor's Management Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.JOB SUMMARY:The Production Supervisor will be responsible for leading and motivating the production team to achieve and exceed established goals. Coordinates, oversees, and directs daily production activities to ensure operational efficiency, adherence to safety protocols, and the consistent production of high-quality products.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Directly supervise a team of 20 to 30 hourly employees.Proactively lead and engage in plant safety, housekeeping, 5S, and lean manufacturing initiatives, ensuring departmental goals are consistently achieved.Ensure adherence to and execution of all company regulations, policies, and programs in compliance with Amcor, local, state, and federal requirements, including Environmental Health & Safety, Quality, and Human Resources standards.Ensure company policies, quality procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are effectively implemented, understood, and followed across the department.Maintain compliance with established customer quality and production standards.Address and resolve mechanical, operational, and technical downtime issues within the department promptly.Oversee the timely completion of all required documentation, schedules, work orders, and related records.Sustain and enhance production throughput while collaborating with the Production Manager to control direct labor costs.Plan and manage production performance by setting and monitoring operating targets based on machine capabilities, workforce capacity, and projected business needs.Train, motivate, and mentor employees to foster a skilled and engaged workforce.Support on-the-job training and continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.Perform additional duties as assigned.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:A four-year degree or equivalent and applicable work-related experience.Experience in Blown Film Industry. (is a plus)A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role with a strong background in Production floor supervision.QUALIFICATIONS:Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment as well as independently lead initiatives.Proven strong problem-solving capabilities, results-oriented approach, and sound decision-making skills.Proficient in utilizing computer programs and systems including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, JDE, and Teams.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information accurately and professionally across diverse cultural backgrounds, including English as a second language, and at all organizational levels.Flexible availability to work any shift as required, including weekends and holidays.Previous experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
