Job summary

Our client, a global food manufacturing company, is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead their team in Chicago. The role focuses on operating and maintaining equipment to meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets, while driving improvements and cost reduction.

The base salary is expected to be in the $80K to $95K range plus bonus and world class benefits. FMCG or Packaging experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years manufacturing/production experience.
• 1–2 years supervisory/lead experience (led 15+ people).
• Safety knowledge: LOTO, GMP, BOS.
• Experience with TPM, SAP/ERP and quality systems.
• Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing experience.
• FMCG or Packaging experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain equipment to meet safety, quality, cost, delivery, and sustainability targets.
• Lead shutdown maintenance and root-cause analysis to reduce losses.
• Allocate resources effectively during the shift.

Our client, a global food manufacturing company, has an immediate need to attract a Production Supervisor to lead their team in Chicago.

Base salary is expected to be in the $80K to $95K range plus bonus and world class benefits.

How you will contribute

You are a key ingredient in helping us change how the world snacks. You will operate and maintain equipment to build technical mastery and to deliver on safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability and morale targets, understanding losses in your area and taking the appropriate action to eliminate them. You will use autonomous and progressive maintenance standards to maintain equipment and support new product development. In this role, you will ensure that safety processes are observed [e.g. safety maps, lock out tag out (LOTO) , behavior observation system (BOS) and root-cause analysis (RCA)], that quality assurance activities are performed to ensure zero harm and 100 percent good-quality products, and that resources are properly allocated and available during the shift. You will take the lead for shutdown maintenance, root-cause analysis, stops reductions loss analysis and breakdown elimination.

What you will bring

• Autonomous maintenance (AM) Step 4 systems and progressive maintenance (PM) Step 3 systems
• Maintaining equipment at basic conditions independently, including the execution of AM & PM (break-down maintenance, planned maintenance) standards on dedicated equipment
• Total productive maintenance and Six Sigma including qualification of AM steps 5-6, and PM step 3
• Leading line teams
• Handling challenging interpersonal situations tactfully
• Communicating effectively verbally and in writing and good attention to detail

Must Have

• 3–5 years manufacturing/production experience
• 1–2 years supervisory/lead experience (led 15+ people)
• Safety knowledge present, like LOTO, GMP, BOS
• Some technical fit, like TPM, SAP/ERP, quality systems
• Some quantified results — any numbers showing impact is a positive signal (full benchmark formula not expected from everyone)
• Resume is coherent, role-appropriate, and shows progression
• Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing experience
• FMCG or Packaging is must
