The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising employees to maximize safety, quality, and productivity. Key responsibilities include daily production scheduling, lot control, inventory accuracy, reporting, sanitation, housekeeping, and adherence to standard operating procedures. Assures correct preparation of products and finished goods. Shared responsibility for new methods e.g. 5 S, standardize work and methods improvements.

This position will require the employee to work overtime as needed. Overtime is scheduled based upon individual job responsibilities and the needs of the department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Develop and operate within SOPs
• Lot control, inventory accuracy, and reporting
• Safety (line inspections, department safety audits, safety meetings)
• Quality (high quality production, quality audits, clean environment) HACCP, Verification of CCP’s
• Cost/Production efficiency, maintenance, strategic planning for the continuation of production
• Sanitation and housekeeping
• Employee relations issues

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or lead experience in the food or beverage manufacturing industry required.
• College degree is preferred.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate employees.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Lead by example, professionally, morally and ethically.
• Highly organized, methodical, disciplined and detail-oriented.
• Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge.
• Knowledge and experience with GMP and safety regulations.
• Good verbal & written communication skills are required.
• Basic computer skills within programs such as Microsoft Office and the internet, required.
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is required.

BENEFITS AND SALARY

The minimum compensation for the Production Supervisor is $27.74 per hour. Due to this being a 3rd shift opportunity, the shift differential to be paid for all time worked on 3rd shift is an additional $2.00 per hour. The Jel Sert Company is committed to pay transparency and will provide further compensation information during the interview process. Compensation is determined by a candidate’s experience, education, skills, training, and the internal equity within our organization. Actual compensation to be paid will be determined upon an offer.
