Summary

Directs the activities of the Machine Support group. Responsible for maintaining production schedules and ensuring quality standards are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Leadership and Management Responsibilities
   1. Recruit, interview, and hire Process Engineers, Industrial Techs, WAVE Techs, and Machine Support Techs.
   2. Coach department staff in hiring processes.
   3. Monitor team turnover and implement improvements.
   4. Identify and develop individual and team strengths.
   5. Create and validate training curricula.
   6. Mentor staff to deliver excellence.
   7. Create and manage succession plans.
   8. Establish clear performance goals and provide ongoing feedback.
   9. Conduct evaluations professionally and timely.
   10. Drive continuous improvement.
   11. Coordinate team activities during crises.
   12. Manage recognition and rewards fairly.
2. Communication
   1. Facilitate idea and information exchange.
   2. Communicate clearly in verbal and written formats.
   3. Encourage input and adapt communication styles.
3. Technical Management Responsibilities
   1. Oversee maintenance programs and support equipment.
   2. Plan technical staff activities.
   3. Maintain department reports and records.
   4. Supervise line moves and builds.
   5. Schedule vendor activities.
   6. Ensure procedures are efficient and suggest improvements.
   7. Prioritize customer service and problem-solving.
   8. Lead by example and utilize engineering support.
   9. Establish measurement systems.
   10. Follow safety, health, and security policies.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred, with three years of maintenance management experience or equivalent. Hands-on knowledge of SMT, Thru-hole equipment, process optimization, SPC, DfM, DfT, Demand Flow Technology, and DOE methodologies. Understanding of engineering disciplines related to surface mount and final assembly.
