Job summary

Sterling Engineering in Cary, IL seeks a Production Supervisor - Nights for our plastic injection molding operations. You will lead about 15 Process Technicians per shift and troubleshoot issues hands-on to drive process stability, quality, safety and output.

The ideal candidate has 5–7+ years of plastic injection molding experience, earlier Process Technician roles, 3–5+ years of supervisory experience, and strong communication skills; HS Diploma is required, with Associate/Bachelor’s preferred

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of plastic injection molding/processing experience.
• Previous Process Technician experience with plastic injection molding machines is required.
• 3-5+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• High School Diploma/GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s preferred.
• Strong hands-on technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office/Outlook skills.
• Must be willing and able to become forklift certified.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate injection molding operations to meet safety, quality, and production goals.
• Lead and develop approximately 15 Process Technicians per shift.
• Schedule manpower and manage overtime based on production needs.
• Provide hands-on technical troubleshooting and process support.
• Monitor production reports and KPIs and drive corrective actions.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments.
• Train, coach, and develop employees while addressing performance issues.
• Maintain 5S, housekeeping, and BRC standards.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing practices and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead shift meetings and communicate priorities and production performance.

Hire Type: Direct Hire

Shift: Night Shift (11pm-7:30am)

Compensation: 80K-95K + 5% annual bonus

Must have Skill Set: Injection molding experience and have been a process technician for plastic injection molding machines in the past

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor - Injection Molding to lead manufacturing operations at our Cary, IL facility. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising approximately 15 Process Technicians per shift, with approximately 30 technicians across the full schedule. Technical background is essential, as the Supervisor will provide hands-on troubleshooting support, coach technicians, and help drive process stability, quality, safety, and production performance.
