Job summary

MacLean Power Systems in Tennessee seeks a Production Supervisor to oversee operations, ensure safety, quality, and efficiency, and manage shift activities.

You will lead and coach staff, maintain production schedules, enforce 5S, and drive continuous improvement while coordinating with maintenance and engineering to hit throughput targets.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate workflow and ensure inventory levels meet demand and staffing.
• Provide training and guidance to new employees.
• Complete documents fully and accurately.
• Adhere to 5S standards and maintain a clean work area.
• Follow all safety, environmental and quality policies; perform other duties as assigned.

Production Supervisor - 2791

Supervises production operations within an assigned areas or during an assigned shift.

Job Duties

• Supervise workers that operate production machinery, assemble items, perform quality control or package goods for shipment
• Notify maintenance or engineering departments when equipment requires maintenance or repair
• Monitor output of assigned area(s) against established schedules or quality goals
• Coordinate the flow of work through the department and ensure that department has sufficient levels of inventory to meet demand and is staffed appropriately
• Provide training and guidance to new employees
• Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
• Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
• Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Education

• Knowledge of the field's policies, procedures and practices
• Lead and direct the work of other employees
• Typically have some authority for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance or disciplinary actions
• May provide leadership, coaching and/or mentoring to a subordinate group
• Typically require accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program and 5 or more years of experience
