Under the direction of the Value Stream Manager, The Production Supervisor leads and directs all aspects of operations within the department. Directly, and through associates the Supervisor trains and develops department production teams. Focuses team on meeting next and final customer teams. Monitors and continuously enhance associate engagement and provides and allocates rewards and recognition. Coordinates the delivery of safety, health and other associate support programs to team members. Counsels, advises, and assists teams in planning and problem solving required to complete missions, goals, and objectives. Owns overall process and execution for department’s SQDC board(s). The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations on the manufacturing floor, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and issuing disciplinary actions when necessary to maintain team accountability and performance.
Exercise judgment regularly and continuously and assume responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results impacting people and the high quality of service within the company.
Must communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with employees, co‑workers, suppliers, vendors, and contractors.
An associate degree or bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
Sitting in a typical office position for extended periods while operating a telephone and computer with occasional light lifting. The work also requires regular visits to the Shipyard, vessels, offsite joiner shop, and headquarters facilities, which include climbing stairs and standing during training and presentations.
