Job summary

Quanex Building Products Corp. is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 1st shift on-site in St. Cloud, MN. You will lead a production team, drive Lean initiatives, ensure on-time quality, and support safety and continuous improvement across the plant.

You will coach employees, develop future leaders, manage safety programs, and work closely with senior leaders to meet production goals and budgets. The role offers growth and visibility within a collaborative, world-class safety culture.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate accidents, injuries and implement preventive measures.
  • Interview candidates and assist with new hire training.
  • Complete annual performance evaluations.
  • Provide direction to work centers and manage departmental conflicts.
  • Coordinate with production, materials, maintenance and other leaders.

Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm, hours may vary depending on business needs.

What Success Looks Like:
  • Investigate all accidents, injuries, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Interview candidates and assist with new hire training.
  • Complete performance evaluations annually.
  • Manage conflict, create consistency within your department, and provide direction to your work centers daily.
  • Communicate and cooperate with other leadership regarding production, material flow, maintenance, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing, Inventory, Continuous Improvement, and ERP systems.
  • Monitor priority dispatch and customer service requirements.
  • Identify, analyze, and act to correct bottlenecks, product defect rates, safety hazards, and maintenance problems.
  • Counsel, motivate, and instruct departmental personnel in machine operations and concerns through daily interaction.
  • Proactively present ideas and information concisely and clearly in both oral and written form.
  • Work effectively with peers and all levels of management to achieve divisional objectives and promote teamwork.
  • Establish base data for department budgets, forecast, manage assets, and control expenses per budgetary guidelines.
  • Maintain documentation to support all department activities.
  • Operate various types of production equipment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, attention to detail, and results oriented.
Your Credentials:
  • 5 -7 years of manufacturing experience and at least 3 years of supervisory experience

The salary range is $75K - $90K w/ bonus potential. Starting salary varies based on your experience.
