Job summary

U.S. Tsubaki Automotive, LLC in Chicopee, MA is hiring a Production Supervisor to direct union personnel across manufacturing and assembly of timing chain system components. The role focuses on safety, quality, delivery, and productivity while coaching staff and managing daily production decisions.

The position requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and lean manufacturing experience, with the ability to work all shifts and coordinate with EHS, Planning, Engineering and Quality teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
• 3 to 7 years of supervisory experience or production leadership.
• Ability to present information and respond to questions from employees at all levels.
• Ability to communicate with all employees and handle difficult situations while adhering to policy.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and work instructions.
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word required.
• Demonstrable knowledge in Lean Manufacturing, Project Management and ISO procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP Systems.
• Strong knowledge of EHS standards, Quality Control and Production processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Must be able to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd Shift, depending on needs.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate union personnel across departments to meet safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and labor goals.
• Provide clear expectations, coaching and direction to employees.
• Create and monitor efficient material flow within the department.
• Determine and implement continuous improvement plans for equipment and department.
• Monitor department budget and reduce costs related to production and MRO supplies.
• Foster relationships with EHS, Planning, Engineering and Quality.
• Maintain effective communication via toolbox and employee meetings.
• Follow policies, union contracts and laws; apply consistently.
• Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving them.
• Maintain time and attendance records.
• Coordinate activities with Group Leaders and employees.
• Ensure inventory accuracy.
• Collaborate with HR on grievances and disciplinary matters.
• Make daily decisions on production schedules and personnel.
