Job summary

Walman Optical, a division of EssilorLuxottica, is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality and timely performance. You will develop high-performing teams, drive continuous improvement, coach staff, manage vacation scheduling and keep production and maintenance records.

Four years in manufacturing, strong leadership, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
• 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to solve various types of problems that may involve multiple departments within the Company.
• Ability to perform to high levels of competency in all aspects of lab manufacturing.
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, DVI software).
• Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to maintain an even workflow and a motivating work environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Manage interactions with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead production teams to achieve daily goals and objectives.
• Monitor and evaluate productivity through team and individual metrics.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement processes and coach employees on such initiatives.
• Communicate the company’s value proposition to team members and to accounts.
• Ensure policy and procedure communication and adherence.
• Coach and document performance reviews and address issues.
• Schedule vacation hours considering seasonality workloads.
• Maintain production and machine maintenance records and charting.
• Coordinate with offsite vendors to troubleshoot equipment remotely.
• Liaise with accounts on product information and Rx service decisions.
• Foster motivation, commitment and teamwork in the workplace.
• Maintain a neat, clean and organized work area.
• Follow all attendance and safety rules and protect confidential information.
• Support others to meet deadlines and balance workload.
• Provide training and guidance for less experienced coworkers.
