Job summary

Olsten Staffing Services is assisting a local client in Manning, SC to fill a Production Supervisor role. This temp assignment could become permanent. The supervisor will oversee production activities, ensure safety and quality, and coordinate with HR on staffing.

Qualifications include 2–5 years manufacturing experience, ability to lift 50 lbs, and strong problem-solving skills. Shift: Mon-Thu 5am-3pm. Pay: $30–$31 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–5 years manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and machinery.
• Self-starter capable of making decisions and acting without direction.
• Ability to lead a department of 10+ employees.
• Manual dexterity for operating machinery and computers.
• Able to read sketches, drawings, technical manuals, specifications, and work orders.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to read a tape measure.
• Willing to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise production employees and meet manufacturing, quality, and delivery requirements.
• Manage materials for the production floor (raw materials, MRO, supplies).
• Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and downtime and propose/implement improvements.
• Utilize root cause analysis to implement corrective actions.
• Provide manufacturing process support for existing plants and new projects.
• Provide operator training and develop written job instructions.
• Staff the production schedule: workstations, vacations, breaks, overtime, back-ups, changeovers.
• Coordinate with HR for staffing levels.
• Conduct interviews and performance reviews; lead shift meetings.
• Communicate with other Supervisors and Plant Manager.
• Foster teamwork and continuous improvement culture.
• Complete shift paperwork and assist in production as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
