Responsibilities

• Schedule and assign personnel; monitor schedules; resolve problems; report results on shift production summaries.
• Communicate job expectations; plan, monitor, and appraise staff results; coach, counsel, and discipline employees; enforce policies and procedures.
• Select, orient, and train employees; support their personal growth and development.
• Monitor workflow by tracking process steps, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, and monitoring personnel and resources.
• Study methods and implement cost reductions; develop reporting procedures and systems.
• Foster cooperation across departments and correct malfunctions within process control points.
• Spend 50% of time on direct labor within the area of responsibility.
• Identify and address safety and health concerns by surveying conditions.
• Act as quality inspector for the area; establish and enforce quality standards.
• Ensure all materials are available for production team members.
• Analyze production performance records and data; respond to requests.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Overview

An established food manufacturing company is seeking a Production Supervisor to join its manufacturing team, supporting the Director of Operations and Production Manager. This role is central to keeping production running smoothly, safely, and to a high standard of quality while leading and developing shift staff.

What you'll do

• Complete the production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, monitoring schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results on shift production summaries

• Act as quality inspector for the area of responsibility, establishing and enforcing quality standards
• Ensure all direct and indirect materials are readily available for production team members
• Compile, sort, and analyze production performance records and data; answer questions and respond to requests
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Required qualifications
