Job description

Manufacturing company in the Anderson, SC area is seeking a Production Supervisor with hands‑on flexographic printing experience to lead shift operations, optimize machine efficiency, and ensure product quality. This role manages pressroom personnel, enforces safety protocols, and troubleshoots press operations to minimize downtime and material waste.

Key Responsibilities

• Shift Management: Direct daily pressroom operations, assign tasks, and maintain cross-shift communication to hit daily production targets.

• Flexo Operations & Troubleshooting: Provide direct technical guidance on press setup, registration, tension control, ink viscosity, and color matching. Identify and resolve print defects (e.g., dot gain, banding, gear marks).

• Quality Assurance: Conduct initial job sign-offs and routine pull‑sample inspections using spectrophotometers and densitometers. Lead root‑cause analysis for off‑spec material.

• Process Improvement: Lower setup scrap and changeover times through continuous improvement practices (5S / Lean).

• Safety & Compliance: Enforce OSHA safety standards, including PPE, machine guarding, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).

• Team Development: Train, mentor, and evaluate shift operators and press helpers.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment; 3+ years of hands‑on flexographic press experience (narrow or wide web).

• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of anilox rolls, doctor blades, plate mounting, substrate characteristics, and ink management (water, solvent, or UV).

• Software: Experience using ERP/MES software for job tracking and scheduling (e.g., EFI Radius, SAP).

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or trade certification preferred.
