Description

Overview: The First Shift Production Supervisor manages the daily activities of their area, including ownership of results, coaching employees, interfacing with other departments, and meeting production goals. The role also involves production-related recordkeeping, such as printing labels, completing food safety checks, and ensuring paperwork is completed.

Essential Job Responsibilities/Functions
  • Coordinate startup activities of the area, including safety, quality, food safety inspections, and production line readiness.
  • Proactively plan for the next day's operations, including safety, sanitation, maintenance, and team needs. Communicate with other departments regarding scheduling and production issues.
  • Operate computer systems to track quality trends and production activity.
  • Conduct daily audits of cleaning, inspections, and 5S organization; teach and guide employees to meet standards.
  • Coordinate production activities to ensure quality and food safety standards are met.
  • Troubleshoot and perform basic machine repairs; escalate issues when necessary.
  • Assist in audit preparations.
  • Handle loading and unloading cylinders.
  • Monitor product volume, temperatures, times, and pressure readings.
  • Connect pipes and hoses, adjust valves, operate pumps, and record gauge readings as needed.
  • Adhere to SOPs and understand product handling procedures, including reading date codes.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations as needed.
  • Operate pallet jacks and forklifts; assist in loading and unloading trucks.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer, company, vendor, and employee information.
  • Follow GMP and HACCP policies.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
