Job summary

Reliable Safety & Flow Corp in Columbia, PA seeks a Production Supervisor Finishing to lead the Foundry Finishing area, ensuring safety, quality and on-time production. You will supervise union personnel and drive continuous improvement.

The role requires strong leadership, adherence to ISO standards, and collaboration with planning, HR, and management to meet targets while maintaining a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Heavy industrial production experience in a high-volume setting.
• Union experience preferred but not required.
• Strong work ethic and proven teamwork capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safety, production, quality and schedule performance of the Foundry Finishing area during shifts through direct supervision of union personnel.
• Prepare and monitor daily/weekly shift work plans with staffing in conjunction with production planning; meet targets and report issues to the Foundry Manager.
• Ensure proper staffing and training plans for all key operational areas of the Finishing area.
• Participate in quality and safety reviews to maintain ISO-9001:2015 implementation and drive improvements.
• Work with HR to manage union relations while maximizing productivity and fulfilling contractual commitments.

Production Supervisor Finishing

Department: Manufacturing - Foundry

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Columbia, PA - Plant

Reporting To: Darrin Steadman

Description

The Finishing Supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our manufacturing processes. We are looking for someone with exceptional management skills, a strong focus on safety, and a passion for driving operational excellence through continuous improvement methodologies like Kaizen.

How You Will Help

• Responsible for the safety, production, quality and schedule performance of the Foundry Finishing area during his/her shift through direct supervision of union production personnel.
• Prepare and monitor daily and weekly shift work plan including staffing in conjunction with production planning. Ensure we are meeting production targets for assigned Finishing area; immediately appraise the Foundry Manager of any significant quality or productivity problems to assure immediate corrective action. Achieve maximum production and "up-time" consistent with trained manpower and equipment availability.
• Ensure proper staffing and training plans are in place for all key operational areas of his/her Finishing area;
• Participate in quality and safety reviews and audits to maintain and improve the ISO-9001:2015 implementation of work procedures and policies. Advise Manager of challenges, problems, improvements, ideas and opportunities.
• Works with Human Resources personnel, under the direction of the Foundry Manager, to understand and effectively relate to the Union contract so as to maximize productivity and minimize disruptions to production while fulfilling all Company commitments contained in the Union contract in a fair and professional manner

Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned. Employee must be able to obtain a tow motor license and successfully pass LOTO and confined space training.

What You Will Bring

• High School Diploma required. BS in a technical discipline preferred. Professional certifications would be beneficial.
• Minimum of 2+ years of heavy industrial production experience in a high-volume setting. Experience with a union preferred.
• Must have strong work ethic and must have excellent team-building skills with subordinates as well as with peers. Professional PC literacy skills in MS Word and Excel are required.
