Job summary

Reliable Safety & Flow Corp in Columbia, PA is seeking a Production Supervisor Finishing to lead the Foundry Finishing area on shift, focusing on safety, quality and on-time delivery. You will supervise union production personnel and drive continuous improvement.

This role requires strong planning, staffing, training, and adherence to ISO-9001:2015 procedures, with collaboration across operations and HR to manage the union contract and maximize uptime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; technical BS preferred.
• Professional certifications beneficial.
• 2+ years of heavy industrial production experience; union experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Finishing area safety, production, quality and schedule with direct supervision of union personnel.
• Prepare and monitor daily/weekly shift work plan; meet production targets; communicate issues to Foundry Manager; maximize uptime.
• Ensure staffing and training plans for key operational areas of Finishing area.
• Participate in quality and safety reviews to maintain ISO-9001:2015 procedures and advise on improvements.
• Coordinate with HR to navigate the union contract to maximize productivity and minimize disruptions.

Production Supervisor Finishing

Department: Manufacturing - Foundry

Description

The Finishing Supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our manufacturing processes. We are looking for someone with exceptional management skills, a strong focus on safety, and a passion for driving operational excellence through continuous improvement methodologies like Kaizen.

How You Will Help

• Responsible for the safety, production, quality and schedule performance of the Foundry Finishing area during his/her shift through direct supervision of union production personnel.
• Prepare and monitor daily and weekly shift work plan including staffing in conjunction with production planning. Ensure we are meeting production targets for assigned Finishing area; immediately appraise the Foundry Manager of any significant quality or productivity problems to assure immediate corrective action. Achieve maximum production and "up-time" consistent with trained manpower and equipment availability.
• Ensure proper staffing and training plans are in place for all key operational areas of his/her Finishing area;
• Participate in quality and safety reviews and audits to maintain and improve the ISO-9001:2015 implementation of work procedures and policies. Advise Manager of challenges, problems, improvements, ideas and opportunities.
• Works with Human Resources personnel, under the direction of the Foundry Manager, to understand and effectively relate to the Union contract so as to maximize productivity and minimize disruptions to production while fulfilling all Company commitments contained in the Union contract in a fair and professional manner

Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned. Employee must be able to obtain a tow motor license and successfully pass LOTO and confined space training.

What You Will Bring

• High School Diploma required. BS in a technical discipline preferred. Professional certifications would be beneficial.
• Minimum of 2+ years of heavy industrial production experience in a high-volume setting. Experience with a union preferred.
• Must have strong work ethic and must have excellent team-building skills with subordinates as well as with peers. Professional PC literacy skills in MS Word and Excel are required.
