Job Summary: The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising, training, and mentoring employees in the Fabrication department. This role ensures the production of high-quality products in a safe, efficient manner while supporting and sustaining lean manufacturing principles.
Salary: $52,050 - $58,000 per year
Work hours: 5 AM - 3:30 PM
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Responsibilities:
- Ensure adequate staffing by analyzing production schedules.
- Participate in the interview and selection process for roles such as Roll-Form Operators, Machine Operators, Shear operators, & Welders.
- Motivate, train, and discipline employees through meetings, individual consultations, and written communications.
- Perform annual performance evaluations and develop improvement plans.
- Ensure employees are trained on safety procedures and comply with safety guidelines.
- Maintain a productive work environment, minimizing indirect labor.
- Coordinate daily with the Lead to assign employees to specific machines for optimal production.
- Approve department schedules and time-off requests; process payroll approvals for full-time and temporary staff.
- Produce parts according to the production schedule.
- Communicate any changes that could affect on-time delivery to the Scheduling Supervisor.
- Verify and report accurate production data using operator schedule sheets.
- Analyze efficiency using tools like hours worked and machine downtime reports.
- Monitor waste and identify opportunities to reduce scrap.
- Promote a clean and organized work area using shadow boards and tool carts/shelves.
- Ensure scrap and waste bins are emptied regularly.
- Perform costing of parts.
