Position Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising production and sanitation activities through the various shift leads. The Production Supervisor will train, direct, and motive Team Members to achieve department goals and stands on yields, quality, productivity, and safety. This role works closely with the department supervisors, other department leads, and processing team members, in order to accomplish accuracy within the processing department and to ensure that our customers receive quality products. This position executes processes that ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations, supporting Foster Poultry Farms' mission, vision, and ACTION guiding principles: Accountability, Collaboration, Truth-Seeking, Initiative, Ownership, and Nimbleness.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for supervising all the production and sanitation activities through the various shift leadspersons. Train, direct and motivate Team members to achieve department goals and stands on yield, quality, productivity and safety.
• Responsible for his/her respective department and for meeting department goals and standards on quality, yield, productivity, cost and safety.
• Directly responsible for the development and training of Team Members, working within the guidelines of the union contract and company policies.
• Directly responsible for monitoring standards and indexes needed to control area of responsibility.
• Responsible for quick and timely feedback to supervisor on all exception in regard to productivity, downtime, quality, yield, cost and safety.
• Responsible for making sure all preventive maintenance is done on all equipment in area of control and interfacing with immediate Supervisor on all suggested changes that would make the job better, more profitable and safer.
• Directly responsible for giving safety orientations and holding safety/general meetings as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

All personnel employed or associated with Foster Poultry Farms are responsible for the quality and food safety of company products. The food safety and quality policies are summarized and communicated in a company handbook and at training sessions. Each new hire is provided a handbook and attends a food safety training session before beginning work. All employees attend a refresher training session at least once per year. Records are maintained reflecting the distribution of employee handbooks and attendance at the training sessions.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours on a wet concrete floor
• Must be able to withstand a cold (40-48 degree) environment.
• Must be able to withstand a hot (80+ degree) environment.
• Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a B.S. or B.A. degree in Business Management or equivalent work experience.
• Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience in the food processing industry.
• Must have demonstrated ability communicate verbally in writing and must have strong interpersonal skills.
• Must have a balanced technical/mechanical/human resource knowledge.
• Must be able to evaluate line Team Members fairly and objectively.
• Must have the ability to interface on a daily basis with all support groups or departments.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and E-verify.
• Must be able to read and write English.
• Must have basic math skills.

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate with all levels including management.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Decision making ability for the flagging of deviation from procedures.
• Basic knowledge of sanitation and clean up preferred.

• Able to work safely and set an example of safe working habits for their coworkers.
• Must be able to safely operate forklift and/or pallet jack.
• Must wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
