  • Experience executing production per controlled work instructions and technical requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily Case/Cartridge Preparation and Assembly operations safely and compliantly.
  • Own daily/weekly production execution including personnel assignments and schedule attainment.
  • Maintain work center readiness with trained personnel, materials, tooling, equipment, and documentation.
  • Provide leadership and development to production technicians, including cross-training.
  • Maintain strong floor presence, reinforce safety, quality, and process adherence.
  • Monitor production flow, plan vs. actual, cycle time, and staffing; address risks.
  • Elevate safety, quality, material, tooling, and schedule constraints before impact.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and ensure readiness.
  • Support readiness reviews, rate ramp, capacity planning, and center development.
  • Lead daily/weekly reviews to ensure status visibility and closure of actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, throughput, and efficiency.

Job Title: Production Supervisor - Case/Cartridge Preparation and/or Assembly

Location: Luling, Texas (Onsite)

Position Summary: Here at X-Bow Systems the Production Supervisor overseeing Case/Cartridge Preparation & Assembly is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of Solid Rocket Motor (SRM) manufacturing activities within the Case/Cartridge Preparation and Assembly work center.

This position provides direct leadership to production technicians and is accountable for daily production execution, workforce readiness, schedule attainment, work center organization, production flow, and adherence to released manufacturing processes.

The Production Supervisor works closely with Production Program Management, Assembly Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Safety, Material Program Management, Supply Chain, and other support organizations to ensure the work center has the people, materials, tooling, equipment, documentation, and infrastructure necessary to execute the production plan.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on manufacturing leader who maintains a strong presence on the production floor, develops technicians, identifies production constraints early, and drives disciplined execution in a safety- and quality-critical aerospace manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities to include but not limited to the following:
  • Manage daily Case/Cartridge Preparation and Assembly operations, ensuring production is executed safely, compliantly, and in accordance with released engineering/manufacturing requirements.
  • Own daily and weekly production execution, including personnel assignments, work prioritization, work-in-process, schedule attainment, throughput, and recovery actions.
  • Maintain work center readiness by ensuring trained personnel, materials, tooling, equipment, facilities, documentation, and required support are available to execute the production plan.
  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, and development to production technicians, including cross-training, performance expectations, accountability, and workforce planning.
  • Maintain a strong production-floor presence, reinforcing safety, quality, configuration control, material control, FOD prevention, tool accountability, 5S, and disciplined execution of approved processes.
  • Monitor production flow and performance, including plan versus actual, cycle time, throughput, WIP, staffing, and constraints; identify risks early and drive recovery actions as required.
  • Identify and elevate safety, quality, material, engineering, tooling, equipment, staffing, and schedule constraints before they impact production commitments.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Production Program Management, Assembly Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Safety, Supply Chain/MPM, Tooling, and Facilities to resolve production issues and maintain readiness.
  • Support Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs), rate ramp, capacity planning, and work center development to ensure Case/Cartridge operations can support current and future production requirements.
  • Lead and participate in daily production/Tier reviews, ensuring production status, priorities, constraints, risks, and required actions are clearly communicated and driven to closure.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, production flow, standard work, technician capability, throughput, and operational efficiency.
  • Foster a production culture centered on safety, integrity, accountability, teamwork, quality, and ownership, empowering technicians to stop and elevate when conditions do not meet approved requirements.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 7+ years of relevant manufacturing, production, aerospace, defense, or technical experience; or
  • Associate's degree with 5+ years of relevant manufacturing or production experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Business, or related discipline with 3+ years of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Previous experience leading or supervising personnel in a manufacturing, production, maintenance, military, or technical environment.
  • Demonstrated experience executing production in accordance with controlled work instructions and technical requirements.
  • Strong understanding of production-floor operations, workflow, material control, tooling, equipment, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and allocate personnel based on changing production requirements.
  • Ability to identify and elevate safety, quality, schedule, and production risks.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with technicians, engineers, quality personnel, program leadership, and support organizations.
