Job summary

Coating Place Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead multiple production suites, coordinate set up, processing, tear down, and clean down activities on the 3rd shift.

The role trains and develops staff, reviews performance, and uses problem solving to improve safety, quality, and productivity. Typically supervising 10–15 staff, you will collaborate with training coordinators and leads, manage time records, and ensure compliance with cGMP and safety policies while supporting GMP

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Wurster Coating process experience preferred (Level 2 for internal).
• Knowledge of cGMPs.
• Familiarity with SDS contents and safety data.
• PPE usage knowledge.
• Basic math skills and conversions.
• Ability to read/write/speak English well.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and move up to 265 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Supervises 10–15 staff including Lead Operators and Operators.
• Leads team-based work environment and sets example.
• Evaluates performance; conducts annual appraisals; handles corrective actions.
• Coordinates training with Training Coordinator and Leads.
• Assigns personnel to workstations and monitors progress.
• Performs in-process verifications and checks.
• Analyzes production mistakes and recommends fixes.
• Stages materials/equipment for processing.
• Performs start-up and shutdown of facilities.
• Approves time records and PTO requests.
• Follows CPI cGMP and safety policies.
• Adheres to halal/kosher requirements where applicable.
• Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $23.00 To $29.00 Hourly

New Hires eligible for $2,000 Sign-On Bonus!

*3rd Shift: 11:00 pm – 7:10 am (Mon-Fri), all training is done on 1st Shift

*All levels of experience, pay based on experience

*Must be comfortable wearing respirator, as needed

Position Overview:

The Production Supervisor assigns work and coordinates manufacturing activities including set up, processing, tear down, and clean down activities in multiple production suites. The Production Supervisor trains and develops employees; evaluates work performance; reviews production data; and utilizes problem solving skills to improve operations and to meet company goals in the areas of safety, quality, and productivity. The Supervisor may also perform key math calculations, verifications, and process inspections as necessary to support operations.

Essential Job Functions:

• Typically supervises a staff of 10-15, including Lead Operators, Production Operators, and Facility Operators.
• Promotes and encourages a team-oriented work environment. Leads by example.
• Evaluates employee performance. Performs annual appraisals and works with management to issue corrective discipline if needed.
• Collaborates with the Production Training Coordinator and Lead Operators to ensure effective training of Production personnel.
• Assigns personnel to workstations.
• Performs in-process verifications for Production personnel.
• Analyzes production mistakes and recommends corrective actions.
• Stages materials and/or equipment for processing.
• Performs simple mathematical calculations.
• Performs facility start-up and/or shutdown.
• Approves time records and requests for time off.
• Follows all CPI cGMP practices, policies, and procedures.
• Follows all CPI safety practices, policies, and procedures.
• Employees at CPI work with and/or are familiar with the GMP requirements for Food, Dietary Supplements, Pharmaceuticals, or other elements of each.
• Depending on the position, the employee will be aware of Halal and/or Kosher requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Skills/Knowledge Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree or higher preferred.
• Previous experience with Wurster Coating process is preferred. (Level 2 Operator or equivalent for internal candidates.)
• Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Principles (cGMPs).
• A basic understanding of the purpose and contents within the Safety Data Sheets (SDSs).
• Knowledge of various types of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available and how/when to use it.
• Basic mathematical skills and the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and conversions.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to read, write (legibly), and speak the English language at a level necessary for efficient performance.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, co-workers, and/or clients.
• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 55 lbs. and move objects weighing up to 265 lbs.
