Job summary

INX International Ink Co. in Edwardsville, KS is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a production cell, manage daily workflow, and ensure on-time quality of ink products. You will coordinate with shift teams, monitor equipment, review data, and uphold safety and lean practices.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of supervisory manufacturing experience, a high school diploma, strong math and communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office. Experience with TPM/Lean and SAP is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Manufacturing, warehouse and supervisory/managerial experience.
  • Mechanical skills and knowledge of production processes.
  • Strong math skills and ability to write reports and procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, coordinate and plan activities of a production department/shift.
  • Lead a group of hourly employees and communicate procedures.
  • Interpret reports and job orders; assign duties.
  • Manage daily workflow and ODEN data entry.
  • Support OEE and uptime KPIs; promote safety culture.

Job Description

We are seeking a Production Supervisor to work at one of our facilities. The Production supervisor reports to the Production Manager and exercises direct control over a Production department and coordinates with other Production Supervisors. As part of your role, you will be responsible for:

  • Directing, coordinating and planning the activities of a specific production department/shift under master production schedule and the hourly work force (including machine operators, i.e., milling, mixing, canning equipment, etc.) involved in the manufacture of product
  • Serving as lead person for a group of hourly employees utilizing established methods
  • Communicating procedures to all subordinates, assuring they are understood and implemented when applicable
  • Interpreting statistical reports, cycle time specifications and job orders to workers, and assigns duties
  • Manage daily workflow and associated responsibilities
  • Update the Operational Data Entry Network (ODEN) as needed throughout the shift
  • Review and analyze data to make informed business decisions
  • Support Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Uptime Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Foster and uphold corporate programs and directives
  • Promote a strong safety culture
  • Monitor, prioritize, and support customer demands
  • Encourage the growth and career development of new hires
Qualifications

To perform your job as expected, you will be required to:

  • Have 2 to 5years of supervisory experience in manufacturing
  • Have a High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Have manufacturing, warehouse and supervisory/managerial experience
  • Demonstrate mechanical skills and knowledge of Production processes
  • Have excellent math skills, as well as oral, written, reading and comprehension skillsin order to write reports,business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Demonstrate proficiencywith Microsoft Suite programs (MS Office) and other computer skills
  • Have prior experience leading, coaching, and developing a team and delivering performance metrics through others
  • Possess strong skills, knowledge, and capability in Manufacturing principles such as OEE, Lean, or TPM

In addition to these qualifications, we will consider as a plus if you have:

  • SAP Knowledge
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups
  • Proficiencyin Spanish, sign language, or other language
  • Manufacturing Program Planning and Coordination
  • UV/TP/OSF (Ink) Manufacturing knowledge
  • Have worked in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Inventory Control
  • Experience with Change Management
