Job summary

GNS North America, Inc. is seeking a 3rd shift supervisor to oversee daily production across assigned areas, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery. You will provide leadership, coaching, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills, with 3–5 years in manufacturing and 1–3 years in leadership. 3rd shift hours and a production environment are involved.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years in a manufacturing environment, automotive industry preferred.
  • 1–3 years in a leadership role or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily production activities and ensure safety, quality, and output goals.
  • Coach and develop employees; conduct training as needed.
  • Plan and assign work to meet production and delivery targets.
  • Coordinate with Materials to ensure quality products are made.
  • Maintain 5S organization and participate in continuous improvement.
  • Lead audits, quality meetings, and employee evaluations as scheduled.

Job description

GNS America was established in 2009. Our core business is in conventional stamping, hot stamping, welding, and assembly. Our tool and die capability offer simulation and full design and build activities.

Schedule:

This position is for 3rd shift 10:00pm- 6:30am

Position Summary:

Supervises the daily activities in all assigned areas of production. Ensures proper safety, quality and production requirements and expectations are met. Provides leadership and coaching to employees and drives/supports efforts for continuous improvement.

  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies/procedures.
  • Plans and assigns work to safely meet quality, production and delivery goals.
  • Coordinates manufacturing activities with the Materials Department to ensure production of quality products.
  • Ensures compliance to all company policies and practices.
  • Establishes clear expectations and holds employees accountable.
  • Recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, quality and operating procedures.
  • Participates, drives and implements continuous improvement on an ongoing basis.
  • Keep work area clean and well organized in a 5S manner.
  • Develops, coaches and trains both new and current employees.
  • Demonstrates equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign experienced employees to train worker
  • Communicates with employees, keeping them informed of issues and progress.
  • Promotes and maintains a positive team environment.
  • Ensure Quality in the workplace by participating in Quality meetings/initiatives.
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Inspect finished goods for uniformity and compliance with specifications
  • Conducts LPAs and other audits as assigned.
  • Performs employee evaluations as scheduled while providing constructive feedback on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintains continual learning of professional and technical knowledge by attending educational/training workshops.
  • Monitors and maintains acceptable staffing requirements/levels.
  • Maintains records and logs maintained in Plex.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED required Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related field preferred;
  • minimum of 3-5 year’s experience within a manufacturing environment (preferably in the automotive industry)
  • 1-3 years of experience in a leadership position; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge: Knowledge of machining; Knowledge of press operation; Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Skills: Knowledge of safety, quality control, cost reduction, materials and production processes. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, Strong problem solving and analytical skills; excellent planning and resource allocation skills to meet goals.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel object, tools, or controls, reach with hands or arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 25 pounds, and occasionally push and pull up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.

Work Environments: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. This position is surrounded by machinery that often becomes very hot, which may lead to an uncomfortably warm environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet but can be loud at times.
