Job summary

Haworth, Inc., headquartered in Holland, Michigan, is transforming workspace design and manufacturing. We are seeking a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to lead a manufacturing team on the Big Rapids, MI floor, ensuring on-time, on-budget production.

You will supervise daily operations, enforce safety and quality, and drive continuous improvement through lean practices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and develop talent for long-term growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent.
• 3 years of related manufacturing experience.
• 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to travel up to 10% and work on the factory floor in a physically demanding environment.
• Must be able to work in Big Rapids, MI without relocation.

We are currently looking for a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to join our team in Big Rapids, MI.

Schedule: 230 pm - 1230 am M-F & Saturday 130 pm - 1130 pm

Training Schedule: 1st Shift 4-6 Weeks

Job Overview

Supervise a team to manufacture high-quality products on schedule and within budget. Oversee daily production activities, prioritize tasks, and address production issues related to machinery and processes.

Essential Functions

• Assign and oversee production tasks: Assign and oversee production tasks, ensuring clear understanding of work instructions, quality standards, and production targets.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards: Enforce compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.
• Foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, promoting member engagement, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
• Foster a positive and collaborative team environment: Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting open communication, teamwork, and a shared commitment to excellence.
• Implement continuous improvement and innovation: Champion and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as leveraging lean tools, to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage team resources and budget: Manage team resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to optimize production efficiency and control costs.
• Monitor production performance and provide feedback: Encourage Monitor production performance, track progress against goals, and identify areas for improvement.
• Supervise a team of manufacturing members: Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and support to a team of manufacturing members, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
• Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
• Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
• Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in relevant field of study
• Education Equivalency: Associate's Degree plus 2 years related experience OR 4 years related experience if no post-secondary education
• Work Experience: 3 years related experience
• Supervisory Experience: 2 years supervisory experience
• Military Equivalency at
• Internal Candidates: Supervisory or other leadership experience*
• *Examples of "other leadership experience" may include any of the following: Holding a Team Lead position in Operations; Serving as a project lead where the project had a sizeable business impact and involved guiding a cross-functional team to results, typically in a similar industry; Taking on a leadership role in a Member Resource Group (MRG) or other work-related committee requiring leadership skills; Leading a large-scale change where change management expertise was required; Creating and implementing a multi-year strategic plan; Completing a Haworth leadership development program, including our Aspiring Leader Program (ALP); Completing Haworth Management System (HMS) champion project(s); Mentoring interns.

• Applicants must be able to work in Big Rapids, MI without relocation assistance.
• Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.
• Ability to travel up to 10 percent of the time.
• Ability to spend significant time on factory floor with exposure to heat, dust, noise, moisture, or other adverse conditions. Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and climb above or around equipment.

• MRP knowledge/experience.
• Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.
• Warehouse experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
