Production Supervisor 2nd Shift (Cosmetics):
Position Summary:

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in packaging products and materials by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions:
  1. Drive the mantra Safety, Quality, and Productivity
  2. Follow OSHA regulations including lock-out/tag-out process/procedures
  3. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
  4. Reinforce PPE policies for certain areas of the facility requiring employees to wear steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair nets/beard nets, etc.
  5. Maintain quality standards by enforcing organizational standards.
  6. Achieve manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
  7. Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
  8. Maintain workflow by monitoring process steps; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions; fostering cooperation within and between departments.
  9. Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting KPIs (efficiency, scrap, etc.)
  10. Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  11. Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; responding to questions and requests.
  12. Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
  13. Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending actions.
  14. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree desired, or equivalent supervisory work and leadership experience - technical or engineering degree.
  • Previous supervisory/management experience required
  • Proven team building experience
  • Previous experience with Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Experience working with a diverse group of individuals
  • Bilingual in Spanish

  • Logical problem-solving skills related to production issues
  • Strong analytical skills
