Production Supervisor 2nd Shift (Cosmetics):
Position Summary:
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in packaging products and materials by performing the following duties.
Essential Functions:
- Drive the mantra Safety, Quality, and Productivity
- Follow OSHA regulations including lock-out/tag-out process/procedures
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
- Reinforce PPE policies for certain areas of the facility requiring employees to wear steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair nets/beard nets, etc.
- Maintain quality standards by enforcing organizational standards.
- Achieve manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
- Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
- Maintain workflow by monitoring process steps; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions; fostering cooperation within and between departments.
- Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting KPIs (efficiency, scrap, etc.)
- Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; responding to questions and requests.
- Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
- Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending actions.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree desired, or equivalent supervisory work and leadership experience - technical or engineering degree.
- Previous supervisory/management experience required
- Proven team building experience
- Previous experience with Lean Manufacturing principles
- Experience working with a diverse group of individuals
- Bilingual in Spanish
