Job summary

Trident Seafoods is seeking a Production Supervisor to plan, direct, coordinate and control production activities year-round, with a focus on HACCP, safety, and continuous improvement. The role requires knowledge of safety and quality systems and experience coordinating staffing to meet schedules.

The successful candidate will maintain production records, oversee workers, enforce safety policies, and drive efficiency in a dynamic seafood processing environment.

Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in a manufacturing production environment with specific experience leading production lines.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience conducting material variance investigations and identifying root causes of inventory, yield and production discrepancies.

Responsibilities

  • Study production schedules and estimates staffing, duty assignments and inventory requirements in coordination with Production Manager.
  • Develop a process plan including people, resources, equipment, and floor space.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Coordinates manpower requirements by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing conditions.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Responds to grievances accordingly and works with subordinates, and Production Manager to discuss and eliminate problems.
  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Summary:

The Production Supervisor plans, directs, coordinates, and controls activities of workers engaged in production and supports production related issues in the plant for year-round production and seasonal fresh processing.This position should have a working knowledge of HACCP, GFSI, and other safety and quality systems that are vital to this position.

  • Working knowledge of SAP

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities(KSAs)

  • Demonstratedknowledge ofHACCP,GFSI.
  • Ability to investigate material variancesusing aRoot Cause Analysis-driven (RCA) approach
  • Ability to plan, direct, and coordinate activities of workers engaged in production.
  • Strong knowledge ofproduction,yieldand inventory systems.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and quality management systems.
  • Solid understanding of Continuous Improvement principles.
  • Demonstrated commitment to operational excellence,accountabilityand data-driven decision making.

Work environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
