Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead one or more manufacturing areas, guiding teams to meet production schedules while upholding safety, quality, and cost targets.

You will mentor staff, train on work instructions, and participate in continuous improvement, collaborating with other functions to optimize workflow and equipment upkeep.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate teams to meet production schedules while upholding safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Orient, train, motivate, and coach team members on work instructions and standards.
  • Handle supervisory HR tasks: assignments, attendance, incident reports, and counseling.
  • Assist in production scheduling, quality, material flow, and equipment maintenance.
  • Audit quality and safety processes and implement root-cause corrections.
  • Foster effective working relationships within the team.
  • Assign work and projects to develop skills and flexibility.
  • Requisition resources and expedite as required.
  • Provide backup support for all team members.
  • Support additional duties as production needs evolve.

Job description

The Production Supervisor is responsible for one, or more, areas of manufacturing; knowing and implementing all policies and procedures, mentoring and developing the staff, and ensuring all policies and procedures are met. This position will contribute to team efforts by participating in continuous improvement projects as required.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for leading and coordinating teams in manufacturing areas in order to meet production schedules and meet required safety, quality, cost, delivery, and team objectives
  • Orient, train/develop, motivate, counsel and assist team members in work instructions, production standards, and the balanced flow of work and problem resolution
  • Perform all related supervisory and human resource functions (work assignments, attendance documentations, incident reports, performance evaluations/counseling)
  • Assist in production scheduling/planning, quality, material flow and equipment maintenance
  • Audit quality and safety reports and processes to determine cause of issues/problems and ensures necessary corrections are performed to maintain standards
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships within team environment
  • Assign work and special projects to team members to develop work experience and flexibility
  • Requisition resources (supplies, tools, etc.) and expedite as required
  • Act as backup for all team members
  • Contribute to team effort by performing related tasks as needed to assist in overall goals
  • Other duties and projects as determined by production and business needs
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of two (2) years experience or equivalent experience in a production environment
  • Previous experience with machine shop, stamping, assembly, or plastic injection molding environments a plus
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of production systems and techniques
  • Ability to understand and use work planning skills
