Job summary

Eaton GEIS division is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift in Reno, NV. You will lead the night team, drive safety, quality and productivity, and implement lean initiatives to meet schedule commitments.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering or a HS diploma with 3+ years of manufacturing experience, plus supervisory exposure and bilingual skills (preferred). Relocation support within 50 miles of Reno may be provided.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree or HS diploma/GED with minimum 3 years manufacturing or operations experience.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or operations environment.
• Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred.
• SAP experience and lean manufacturing knowledge are valued.

• Lead daily visual management and tier meetings focusing on safety, quality, delivery, cost and inventory.
• Apply lean tools to reduce costs, inventory, and lead times; align with manufacturing strategy.
• Set manufacturing priorities based on production schedule and ensure timely deadlines.
• Enforce safety programs, manage budgets, and coach performance with corrective actions when needed.
• Ensure standard work is followed and countermeasures are implemented for improvements.
• Provide training and tools to team; build technical and leadership capacity.
• Oversee night shift operations, ensuring safety, productivity and accountability.

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:Conduct Daily Visual Management, lead daily tier meetings with all department personnel in area of responsibility focusing on safety, quality, delivery, cost/productivity, and inventory.Utilize lean manufacturing tools to reduce operational costs, inventory and lead-times as well as ensure alignment with long-term manufacturing strategies.Develop and establish manufacturing priorities based on the production schedule and monitor employee work requirements to meet customer deadlines.Enforce and implement safety policies and programs, meet operating budgets, complete continuous improvement plans, and coach employees on behavior/performance issues and initiate disciplinary actions if required.Monitor control plans, troubleshoot workmanship problems, and supervise production activities to ensure manufactured products meet or exceed established quality requirements.Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardize work processes are followed and countermeasures are implemented where necessary.Ensure that assigned personnel have appropriate training, work instruction and tools to successfully perform job.
