Job summary

Nortek is seeking a production supervisor to lead a 15–25 person team in a high‑volume environment. You will coach and develop staff, drive safety, quality, and delivery performance, and apply lean practices on the factory floor.

The role requires strong problem‑solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to interpret drawings and specs. You will monitor metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing experience in a high-volume or mixed-model environment.
• Direct supervisory experience leading production teams.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
• Experience in lean manufacturing environments.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 15–25 employees, including team leads.
• Oversee daily production to meet safety, quality, and delivery goals.
• Maintain strong floor presence (~70%) to support teams and resolve issues.
• Apply lean manufacturing principles (5S, standard work, flow).
• Lead root cause problem solving and implement sustainable solutions.
• Manage time and attendance for production staff using ERP data.

Work Schedule

Fixed 4-day workweek (Monday–Thursday)

• 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM

Overtime may berequiredbased on business needs

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 15–25 employees, including team leads
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Provide clear direction, feedback, and performance management
• Support hiring, training, and workforce planning

Operations Execution

• Oversee daily production to meet safety, quality, and delivery goals
• Maintain strong floor presence (~70%) to support teams and resolve issues
• Ensure adherence to standard work, policies, and procedures
• Monitor performance metrics and drive corrective actions

Continuous Improvement

• Apply lean manufacturing principles (5S, standard work, flow)
• Lead root cause problem solving and implement sustainable solutions
• Maintain training matrices and build workforce capability
• Drive improvements in safety, quality, and productivity

Safety & Quality

• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards and procedures
• Support and reinforce quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives

Administrative

• Manage time and attendance for production staff
• Utilize ERP system (Infor) and production data to support decision-making
• Maintainaccuraterecords and reporting
